Profile

Brisbane based Interior designer Sandra Kruger established Studio SK to meet a gap in the property interior design market, offering a service that provides unique, eclectic and impressive Interiors.

Sandra has more than 13 years of experience in residential, commercial, and retail interior design, project management and customer service. After completing a Bachelor of Built Environment in Interior Design at QUT in 1997, Sandra lived in London for several years, where she worked as a Visual Merchandiser.

Upon her return to Brisbane Sandra established her business Little Star, which specialised in the sale and manufacture of bespoke handbags and clothing. Over five years the business grew from a small market based label to a brand that was both sold from her West End studio outlet and distributed nationally.

Eager for a change, Sandra followed her love for Interior Design and joined Mirvac, where she worked on projects such as Tennyson Reach, Waterline Bulimba, Mossvale on Manly and Ephraim Island. It was with Mirvac that she specialised in the creation of bespoke sales displays and the design and delivery of premium residential, retail and commercial Interiors.

Recently Sandra has worked as both a Project Manager and Project Interior Designer with Office Interiors. Creating commercial Interiors for a broad range of government clients, often on tight budgets, has enabled her to find creative, specialised and cost effective solutions that both meet and exceed the clients’ expectations. Following on from this Sandra has also has a working relationship with Bureau Proberts Architects, with clients including Mantra Hotels.

Studio SK’s design philosophy is based on respect for the architecture and environment. Sandra embraces classic eclecticism, fused with contemporary design, to develop unique spaces to suit a broad range of lifestyles, workplace cultures and budgets.

Philosophy

Studio SK is committed to ensuring its business activities are as environmentally and socially responsible as is possible.

We make every effort to deal with companies that are environmentally and socially responsible when sourcing product.  We encourage and promote the use of locally sourced Australian made product as well as using vintage and reupholstering existing furniture to create a unique look.

Studio SK reviews the environmental policies and ethical standards of all suppliers to ensure they are supplying a responsible product with minimum production environmental impact. All timbers used in the making of solid timber products come from certified sustainable forests or are sourced from reclaimed timber supplies. We also promote local timber furniture suppliers’ work.

Fabrics used are generally a commercial quality, ensuring the life cycle is maximised and your furniture will be built to last.

Studio SK is a regular donator to a range of favourite charities - RSPCA, Animals Australia, WSPA, and The Orangutan Project.
